Human Resources Manager
Reports to: Senior Director, Operations
Responsibilities
1. HR Systems & Data Management
Own, organize and maintain employee records, including personal data, attendance records, and other HR-related documents.
Own and administer HR information (HRIS/ATS), ensuring data accuracy, reporting, and system optimization.
Prepare weekly and quarterly HR reports for various stakeholders.
2. Recruitment
Manage the organization’s job posting account with JazzHR. Work with hiring managers to ensure consistency in company branding and interviewing procedures.
Manage the end-to-end applicant lifecycle, including screening resumes, conducting initial interviews, coordinating second subsequent interviews, administering testing or skills assessments, presenting offer letters, and communicating with candidates in a timely and professional manner.
3. Onboarding & Offboarding
Lead the onboarding process for new employees, including preparing orientation materials for managers, submitting background checks, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed & filed appropriately.
Send onboarding surveys & compile data for hiring managers.
Ensure offboarding steps are taken by all team members in a timely manner, and all necessary paperwork is executed according to federal, state, and local requirements.
4. Compensation and Benefits
Provide regular compensation benchmarking for all roles, in coordination with Finance
Provide salary recommendations for new and replacement roles, in collaboration with Finance; final salary posting and offer decisions are the responsibility of department heads
Lead the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits, in partnership with Justworks and other providers.
5. Performance Management
Maintain the annual and quarterly performance review calendar, providing templates, reminders, and an accountability structure for managers and employees.
Provide managers with templated reports of their direct reports’ 360 feedback & update templates as required/requested by the Leadership team.
6. Employee Engagement & Communications
Create & send quarterly engagement surveys & reminders.
Compile data and generate reports for leadership team & employees.
Maintain birthday & anniversaries calendar when people are onboarded/offboarded and provide timely email reminders to the relevant parties.
Manage HR-related internal communications including policy updates, benefits information, and employee announcements.
7. HR Compliance
Support HR operations across multiple geographies, including coordination with Employer of Record (EOR) providers and Professional Employee Organizations (PEO).
Ensure HR policies are kept up to date and aligned with federal, state, and local requirements.
Execute core compliance processes including I-9 management, recordkeeping, audit preparation, and employee classification tracking.
8. Employee Relations
Serve as a first point of contact for employee relations issues, including handling routine concerns and escalating more complex matters as needed.
9. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and suggest enhancements based on updated technologies and industry trends.
Experience & skills required:
At least 3-5 years of experience in an HR generalist/HRBP role with a small or medium sized company is required
At least 1-2 years of experience with talent acquisition is required
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills (written, verbal, nonverbal)
Extremely high integrity and ability to maintain discretion & confidentiality with sensitive information and circumstances
Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited oversight

Eager to learn and take responsibility for your own growth, knowledge and development
Strong organizational skills & attention to detail
Proficiency in MS Office applications and ability to learn new software quickly, including AI tools.
HR degrees and certifications are preferred but not required
Compensation
This is a part-time contract role. Salary will range from $45-60/hour commensurate with experience. Estimation is approximately 20 hours of work per week.
